Harriet Hare wanted a poppy for this special day. Here is her crochet poppy pattern if you would like to make one?
Using DK yarn in red and 4mm crochet hook make 4 chain and join with a slip stitch to first chain to make a loop.
Round 1: Work 3 chain, then make 9 trebles into the loop. Join last trebble to first trebble with a slip stitch so these form a ring. You should have 10 stitches.
Row 1: Work a 3 chain and then a treble into the same stitch, Then make 2 trebles into each of the next 3 stitches. You should now have 8 stitches. Turn work.
Row 2: Chain 1 then work 2 double crochet into each stitch. Tie off.
Work as first petal starting chain 3 in the last treble of previous petal.
Complete this petal as petal 1.
Work Petal 3 and 4 in the same way.
Sew in all ends and attach a button in centre.
Add a saftey pin or badge fixing for attaching to garment.
